Rob Feenan (left) , incoming club president, presents the past president's pin and a plaque to outgoing president, John Schwab, while John, in turn presents the president's pin to Rob. The induction of the new president and board members took place at a gala dinner and auction July 10th at Tee It Up Golf. Rotarians and their family members raised $5,000 for Rotary Foundation in the auction, in addition to the induction of new officers for 2014 -15.
 
June 2015 West Chester Rotary Honors Local Students
Rotary Club of West Chester, students from local high schools were honored in three categories. Pictured with Dr. Jim Scanlon, superintendent of the West Chester Area School District and a Rotarian, are (from left) Mary Joy Kozak and Luca Greco from Rustin High School, students of the year, Jessica Jaramillo, student of the year from East High School, Justin Cooper of East, who attended RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards program), Maddy Stiebritz, East student of the year and Mike Marano, Principal at Rustin. Seated front (from left) are Katarina Darmofal from Rustin and Julia Sabrick of East, who each won a $5,000 college scholarship from the Rotary Club, based on winning essays detailing their volunteer efforts in their schools and community. Other students of the year (not pictured) who were honored and awarded $50 gift cards included Caitlin Brown of East and Brittany Saello of Rustin. Additional students sponsored by the Rotary club to RYLA (not pictured) included Christina Chawn, Roseline Gouesse, Andrew Henry, Mercedes Mengel, Alicia Monaco, Tuyen Nguyen, Laura Richardson and Manasseh Washington, all from East.
 
100+ gallons Soup Donation for Safe Harbor

Gathering up containers to fill or getting ready to place prepared soup in a cooler for delivery to Safe Harbor are (from left) Joanne Tadeo, Katie Martin, Glen Sweet, Diane Lemonides and Shauna Yeldell, members of the Rotary Club of West Chester. This is the fourth year the Rotary Club has supplied soup to Safe Harbor during the month of February. Diane Lemonides chairs this Rotary project, which yields over 100 gallons of soup for Safe Harbor, a Chester County shelter for homeless men and women.
 

April 2015 Rotarians at Work Day
 
Hard working Rotarians from our club braved some chilly weather on Saturday April 26th for annual Rotarians at Work Day.  We helped spruce up the gardens at the Hickman Home.  Here President-elect Katie Martin (from left) helped spread mulch at The Hickman, along with a friend, Rotarian Glen Sweet, Cat, and Tamara Minnick.

Brandywine River Cleanup Nov. 2014

A small but hearty group of Rotarians and family members trolled the Brandywine in the annual Rotary River Rubbish Run and gathered considerable rubbish for their efforts. Chili Cookoff - 2014 Donations
