The Annual Marshall Square Park Clean-up Project found over 20 folks, which included family members and friends joining club members, with gloves, rakes, wheelbarrows and other tools in hand to clean the popular park. Donuts and beverages provided early morning treats for hungry volunteers. Afterward, many of the folks headed down the street to Bob and Sue Rogers home where the Rogers provided a delicious barbecue as they have generously done in past years.
Elsewhere, members set up our festive Rotary tent and table at West Goshen Community Park, while other Rotarians participated in the 5K run or 1K walk at the Brandywine Valley SPCA’s annual Walk for Paws. Our club partnered with the SPCA at this event which not only raises funds for the SPCA, but brings adoptable dogs and cats to the event.
Still other club members participated in the Running Home 5K sponsored annually by North Star of Chester County(NSCC). NSCC works to prevent homelessness and promote self-sufficiency. Rotarian Don Neimitz, NSCC executive director, participated with his family. In the late afternoon and into the evening, some club members went to Mas Mexicali Cantina in the borough to Beebfest for the Donation Celebration benefitting Safe Harbor.
Photos captured by Jeff Cantwell, Anne Driscoll, Mark Sammarone and others, give a sampling of the full day of volunteering by club members, their families and friends. They set the bar high for upcoming volunteer days!
