Rob Feenan, Allison Snavely, Faith Woodward and Jack Wintermute were among the Rotarians who received a warm welcome from Rocky Bluewinkle, the Wilmington Blue Rocks mascot, to the delight of  the numerous children and grandchildren of Rotarians  who were there. Our annual night to watch the Wilmington Blue Rocks baseball team is always a Rotary family affair. Just ask Rob and Kelly Feenan, attending as usual with their two daughters and the girls' friends. Or Allison Snavely with her three sons, attending with Bob Frame and his cute dog. Or John and Maryann Schwab with their son and grandchildren. There were many other Rotarians who attended as singles or couples, to enjoy a delicious buffet, appetizers and beverages, a comfortable suite at the top of the stadium with inside tables, and outside stadium seats. Our host, Jack Wintermute, who has arranged this fun night for more years than we can remember, had so many giveaways that he has collected at minor league games throughout the year, that almost everyone got a hat, tee shirt, mug, bobble-head doll, or some other baseball memorabilia. His personable wife, Janet, was there also to greet everyone, and make sure Jack didn't pack any of the gifts back home! This year, Jack arranged for VIP parking, a great help on a very warm evening. The Blue Rocks pitcher also provided a special treat - he pitched a no hitter game against the Carolina Mudcats, and the entire stadium rewarded him with a standing ovation. If you haven't attended a Rotary Night at the Wilmington Blue Rocks, you are missing a wonderful evening of good food, baseball, fun and comradery with fellow Rotarians. We'll be looking for you next year!
