Rotarians Jeff Brown, Carolyn Comitta and Jim Scanlon have worked for over a year to restart the Mayor for a Day project to encourage young people to become actively involved in community activities. Prior to the West Chester Borough council meeting last week, they introduced their selection as Mayor for a Day, Ryan Wagner, a senior at Rustin High School, who has shown leadership in his school and in the community. Presenting him with a certificate  noting the honor are (from left) Jeff Brown; Ryan's father, Mark; Interim West Chester Mayor Jordan Norley; Ryan; Ryan's mother, Sheila; Former Mayor Carolyn Comitta; and Dr. Jim Scanlon, Superintendent of the West Chester Area School District. The project was instigated by Jeff, who was named Mayor for a Day in 1960. After a few years, the project was dropped, but has now been restarted as a project of our Rotary club.
