Bob Rogers was the most colorful of the cooks with his red chef's hat and apron ("I like my butt rubbed and my pork pulled"). Providing delicious dishes to accompany the main entrees was Bill Friedmann's world famous "Blame It On the Dog BBQ Baked Beans," along with mac and cheese, cole slaw, and potato salads. Several other attendees brought cookies and brownies.
As is Melissa's inclusive objective, all West Chester clubs were invited to participate, and 10 or so members from the Sunrise Club joined the fun with about 28 West Chester members. Jeff Spencer, Rotarian and Council CEO welcomed everyone and gave an update on the Scout Council. Jeff was kind enough to host us again, given that our usual meeting site at the country club is not available in early January. Funds raised by the event were split between the Chester County History Center and the Boy Scout Council.
In addition to the barbecue, Mac Neilon introduced the group to the Super Bowl LVII Rotary Fund Raiser. To play, contact Mac to pick a number and participate.
As always, Rotary provides opportunities for fellowship as well as club meetings and work projects.
