For more years than most can remember, members and friends of the Rotary Club of West Chester have spent one entire Saturday in December ringing bells for the Salvation Army, one of SA’s major fundraising events. And this year was no different, just colder, as 24 members and 6 Passport members kept the bells ringing and thanked shoppers for donations at the Amish Market and Shop Rite grocery store.
Over $839 was donated at the Amish Market and over $770 at Shop Rite. You will recognize the names of those who frequently give generously of their time and donations, as well as some newer members, including Amna Salahuddin, Anne and Joe Driscoll, Bob Frame, Bob and Sue Casso Rogers, Brad Abel, Chuck Heckenberger, Glenda Brion, Howard Sundwall, Jeannie McGinn, Jeff Cantwell, John Schwab, Katie Martin, who recruited the volunteers as she has done for several years, Mac Neilon, Melissa Baxter, Paul Woodruff, Phil McFadden, Phyllis Dunn, Seamus Lavin and three Steve’s, Bayles, Brown and Quigley.

In addition to the assistance provided to the SA by our club members, many find it a great opportunity to shop in the stores after their shift to find interesting and tasty Amish foods, and pick up needed grocery items!

The generosity of volunteering by those who help with and donate to the kettles makes a big difference in the important services provided by the Salvation Army, according to Captain Jesus Corraliza, one of our Rotary members.

Rotary members in action again!
