Dear WC Rotarians,

 

I am sorry to report the passing of Rita Filano.  There is more detail below about the funeral and arrangements. 

 

We try to support members of our Rotary family at these difficult moments, so if you are able to attend the funeral please do so and sit together if possible.

 I regret to inform you that Rita Filano, wife of former WCU Mathematics Professor and administrator Al Filano, passed away yesterday.   Like her husband, Mrs. Filano was a long-time volunteer and supporter of West Chester University serving as President of the Faculty Dames organization for many years as well as a member of the Presidential Scholarship Gala Committee. 

 

A viewing will be take place on Friday, October 21 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Della Vecchia Funeral in West Chester (410 North Church Street).  The Funeral will be held on Monday, October 24 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Church in West Chester (233 West Gay Street).  Condolences may be sent to:

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Al and Rita Filano Mathematics Scholarship Endowment at the WCU Foundation or the Chester County Hospital Women’s Auxiliary.  Gifts to the Filano Memorial Scholarship should be made payable to the WCU Foundation with a notation for the Filano Mathematics Scholarship Endowment and mailed to:
